Leaving Arco and driving up the Sarce Valley you come to an area where there is a massive feild of Talus and you cannot help but wonder if there is bouldering in the area. 10 years ago I started exploring the area and found several good problems in the area. However, the area has always been kind of considered off limits by the locals, mostly due to the hazard of car break-ins, due to poor landing area's, plus several years ago bouldering was not as popular as it is now.

Located at the base of Placce Zebrata (one of the valley's classic climbing sites) are several large boulders that have been cleaned and offer a nice break from the walls of Arco. The below guide is a good starter guide for the area. I will work on updating later this fall when I get snowed out of other areas. Until then this should get you started.

The rock is good compact limestone and there are plenty of routes that are not mulit direction follow the dot climb. There are several boulders without marked problems and some several other not marked on this quick drawing. If anyone has a better listing and wishes to share let me know.

Getting there

From Arco head north in the direction of Trento. After approx. 7 km you will come to Bar "della Placche"on the right side of the road. Just after the bar on the left side of the road is the parking area for Placche Zebrata. There is a route map of the wall in the parking area.

To reach the boulders follow the ovious path toward the cimbing wall. A good source of reference is the large rock marked on the map. You will see slightly worn foot paths to the designed boulders and most routes that are marked are in black paint.
